rear seat frame

Noticed my rear seat sling is not like my two former J3s.
No back bottom of seat sling tube receiver.
Screws at top and cord at front edge only.
Then I noticed that there is a seat frame similar but bigger than the front seat frame....
The upright / back is cut off.
Seat frame is bolted to the fuselage crosstube.
Seat belt is attached to this seat frame...stronger than original j3 welding rod tiedown.
Do do I have a cut down pa18 seat or what?
Any ideas? R
