Still Ugly

I have received several comments about how ugly the black door seal patch is on my J3, whenever I post the first picture showing the Grove brakes. Also one guy spotted it on the air-to-air shot Jim Newton took. By the way, there is another aircraft in the photo albums with the same sort of outside black patch.

I discovered that it was sewn together with the similar fabric inside the aircraft, so it can't just be removed. I then got the bright idea to paint it. So I masked it off, protecting a strip down the center where the fabric flexes when the door is opened and closed, and painted it.

I gotta admit, it is still ugly. But Cub yellow ugly is better, right?
