I've seen different types of rib splices over the years and have settled on the following procedures for making nice "not showing" splice repairs. I apologize for the video quality and wish my brother who is a professional video cinephotoghper was here to help. The tin snips I used are Craftsman brand made in the USA so they may be hard to find but worth a search. There are five videos showing the tools and the different steps to end up with a nice rib splice.

(tools needed to make rib repairs)
(cutting splices from old ribs)
(preparing broken rib for splice)
(installing and forming a splice)
(rivet splice/finish repair)
