I am considering using Oratex to recover my J3 and wanted to know if anyone has used this covering system and can offer opinions on it. I have a quote and the cost to cover a J3 with Oratex will be close to $9,000 USD. After reading several posts on this forum it looks like the cost for paint and fabric using other systems would probably cost $3,000 to $3,500 USD. I have experience covering a Just Aircraft Highlander with Stewarts Systems so I know the effort required to cover and paint an aircraft and I am willing to pay the $6,000 difference if Oratex is a good choice.

The J3 is covered on the European STC that is approved in Canada so I have no issues with certification. If the STC was approved in the US would any of you consider using it?
