Here are some photos of an eyebrow baffle I fabricated for cold weather operations. I have a Continental A-65-8.
I made them from the same aluminum sheet as my wing root fairings (.025" I think), after making templates out of boxboard and masking tape.
The outboard attachment is via two of the valve cover bolts.
At the inboard end there is a short piece of aileron hinge (from another project). The hinge lets the baffle swing forward, which makes installation of the baffle possible. The inboard attachment is made with a pair of hardware store nuts that engage the last few threads of the cylinder mounting studs.
The baffles occlude about 50% of the air intake area. I originally planned to put louvres or a sliding door in the rectangular hole to regulate airflow, but this turned out not to be necessary.
