I'm shopping for a J-3/L-4 now, and would like to learn more about J-3C vs J-3L. It seems most cubs today are Cs, and with Ls being pretty rare. I know the A-65/C-85 engines pretty well, having owned/operated those before. But the Lycoming O-145 is new to me. Can anyone share their experiences with the O-145 on a J-3? Is it a generally good engine? Reliable? Maintainable? Parts availability? How does it perform vs the A-65? Any input would be helpful.
