So I reported a couple years ago that radar was tracking me, and was asking towers what my altitude was. Today one tower said " why don't you contact SoCal? I said no, I guarantee 1500', and would always be in contact with towers.

No longer good enough. SoCal, even though they knew what my altitude was, and knew I was talking to an ATC facility, stopped class B traffic above me!

A phone call - controller suggested that I had done nothing wrong, but that they had halted class B departures, and could I please call them next time?

This is the beginning of the end of our grandfather operations under class B.
