I just flew the J5 some more and with the bungee it simply acts like normal now....

There is a J4 based at 1W3 owned by a woman who is the last flying member of the family who began Mexico Farms Airport back in the 1920's. Both her and her flying partner report that the J4 suffers the same lack of up trim. It does not have the jackscrew of the rest of the family, it has an adj. trim tab and 3-position stab. The Stab. is in the most nose-up position and still not enough up trim. I'd noticed she almost always makes wheel landings.... Very, VERY smooth wheel landings BTW

If my homebuilt, I'd add another fixed tab as a quick fix.

Any experience/suggestions for the J4.

Thanks,

Jack
