I'm covering the first of my J3 wings and have a couple of questions.

First, is the reinforcement at the lift strut fitting installed as shown or with the open area towards the leading edge (or does it matter)?

Second, the poly fiber manual shows running the two inch pinked tapes over the ribs all the way from the trailing edge around the leading edge and back to the trailing edge? I've always just run them from TE to LE (top and bottom separately), then put a spanwise tape down the back of the leading edge. Any opinions on this?
