I just bought a 1946 J3 and when flying level 2100 rpm and full nose down trim, I still have to hold forward stick pressure to maintain level flight. Got to looking at the trim jack screw and the yoke seems to be upside down. The angled side is on the top and it looks like the yoke hits the top on the screw too soon which doesn't allow the horizontals to go high enough. Two questions: 1 does the "V" shape on the yoke face down like the drawing on the parts list and 2, is it possible to take it apart, flip it and reassemble without tearing the fabric? Anyone have the procedure? Any help would be appreciated. I know there is alot of knowledge on this forum. From just looking at it, it seems doable. I am an A&P and IA but new to cubs. Thanks!
