Am currently covering a Cub derivative and am using a new digital iron. Have been told that an IR gun will not record the correct temp and one needs to mask the sole with masking tape for a legitimate reading. I guess I’m struggling with that line of reasoning. Anyone got any input? The IR is showing a consistent 50° reduction of the LED readout.
