I have long thought that if you could feel the difference between cylinders when pulling through, you have a problem. When I detect such a cylinder, it always leaks gasoline when parked on the floor with valves closed, and usually needs valve seat work ( one was cracked).
I always do many checks before pulling a cylinder - they routinely fix themselves.
So this Cub has had a weak cylinder for the last three months. Weak, as in it felt like the plug was out of one cylinder. I told thenowner it was time to get it fixed. The chosen mechanic did a compression check - 74 and 76 on all four.
Now the owner thinks I am nuts. What did I miss?
