I'm looking for the specs on what size the bead is on the boot cowl, I am replacing my boot cowl and making it myself. The bead is on the leading and trailing edges of the boot cowl, it's not 1/4 so I'm thinking it's either 3/16 or 1/8 inch. Does anyone know for sure? Or if anyone had made their own please chime in on what you did. I have a hard time paying 450 bucks for a boot cowl for 50 bucks in material. I built an RV6 so I've worked with aluminum before. And if someone has information on the crimping around the firewall and how that is done, it looks like pinking of sorts and not crimping.

Thanks in advance

John
