Having issues connecting aileron cables on a 1946 J3. Conflicting/lack of information found. Parts manual shows shackles only on top balance cable connection. A cub on the field has a PA11/18 style stainless strip.

Biggest issue is the control stick connection. Parts book shows left and right cable shackles with one bolt directly to control stick. There is barely room to get one shackle on let alone staggering shackles to get one bolt. Cub on the field has a PA11/18 style steel link that makes this possible. I have premade Univair cables and am trying to avoid ordering parts to see what works. I searched threads and couldn't find this issue covered. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
