6” Maule TW - right rudder locked on ground

When I taxi to the run-up area this morning, after coming to a stop the right Rudder pedal was locked. When I got out and took a look at the tail wheel, it was not unlocked. I fussed with it a bit and regained Rudder and steering control.

I disassembled the kingpin. The only anomaly; grease was old or a little on the dry side.

Btw: most of the play in the kingpin bushing is at the bottom.

Thanks for any tips you may have.
