During the initial takeoff run for my test flight the engine stumbled. I put her down before the end of the runway luckily. We have an unusual runway profile at Eggesford Airfield. There is a bit of a ramp at either end. When I turned around and faced uphill the engine quit. I had to face down hill to get started. So, engine runs fine downhill but quits uphill/climb out. On the flat it runs fine. I have heard that someone else with a J4 had a similar event. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am swapping the carb out today for a known serviceable item.
