Just had a Super Cub trim problem. All the threads here and at Super Cub dot Org helped immensely. Forums really have made my life easier.

The mechanics were about to saw off the tail and weld a new one on, all because the horizontal stab had to be about one and a half degrees tilted. Fortunately, I got there before the Sawsall did, and the Cub will see flight within the week.

One of the interesting things was the brass threaded ferrules had the jam nuts forced past the threaded portion. What a bitch, getting those things loose. Do not go overboard on tightening things made of brass.

Had the same deal about six years ago on a C-180. Forum help saved us from a $3000 rebuild! Collective knowledge is simply invaluable.

Thanks!
