:-[ I had to give in and purchase a new Mac prop for my J3C A-65 because my 40+ year old Mac 1B90 CM7443 would not pass overhaul. So I gave in and not wanting to go back to wood had my prop shop order me a identical prop from Mac and this is what I received (Note the balancing holes that are outside of the area that the skull cap covers as well as the unpainted area, and there are also two sets of 10-32nd type screw holes on the top and bottom of the hub with a weight attached to one side as well). I since have talked to the prop shop and they talked to Mac tech guys and they say this is the prop for a J3 A-65 and this is the way the new ones have been made now for 15+ years. So much for classic looks and original equipment. Is there anyone here that has a new Mac prop like this on their Cub?
I have since talked the prop shop into shipping it back to them to paint the entire hub to match the rest of the prop and Mac said that is OK but not where the bolts make contact with the hub. Still going to have holes visible outside of the skull cap!
