TAIL TIE DOWN ROPE

I would like to make a light, strong Tail Tie Rope for when I do my solo hand prop starts. Any neat ideas on just what kind of rope works the best, How long would be good and are there any quick-clip ends or hardware that might make it easy and fast to hook up and un-hook? Pics anyone? I know...just get a strong enough piece of rope and be done with it....
Also any good ideas on lightweight chalks and size and where you got them?
