A question for you Stromberg carburetor experts.
I have a 46 J3 with a C-85-12 engine with a Stromberg carb. During the annual my AI found that the mixture lever was missing.
Not only was the mixture lever missing, but all the parts that are normally inside the mixture chamber were missing.
The mixture chamber was empty and a smooth convex cover was installed to cap the chamber.
Using the NA-S series parts illustration, all the parts shown to be in the mixture chamber are missing including all parts numbered on the illustration from #47 through #61.
Have any of you heard of this before? Normally the mixture lever is safetied in the full rich position but mine has no mixture lever.
Is this legal?
Do I need to replace all the mixture chamber parts and then safety the lever in the full rich position to make it legal?
Comments please.
