So when the battery in my Sigtronics intercom failed a few months ago I was very suprised that the "fail-safe" feature would not work, I could not transmit and had to unplug the intercom and hook it directly to the A6, then it worked fine.
Finally got around to getting a new high noise model Sigtronics (the old one was cracked and you had to have a screwdriver to change out the 9v battery).
In reading the manual I found that the fail safe feature only works for the "pilot" or left set of jacks. Flying from the front, I always pugged into the right side since I had it velcroed to the wing root and passenger would use the left side. Guys flying from the back probably plug it in the correct side since they sit in the correct seat.
Just thought I'd pass along the info.
