Since putting in the C90, I have gone through 3 RPM cables - but they are all breaking at the gauge side not the engine side. They all seem to last about 10 hours when the RPM drops to zero.

The pin that goes into the back of the gauge is breaking at the swedge.

Because of the angle drive (counter clockwise tach), it's a funky fit getting everything lined up, but going through this many cables seems nuts.

Dad is back in the States now flying the cub, and the newest cable broke yesterday. I don't want to fly without RPM.

My tach is on the left side of my panel, so a bit nonstandard I guess, but nothing extreme.

Replacing cables faster than oil is getting old. What is going on?
