I am at the point in my aircraft restoration to remove the floats from the fuselage so I can begin the fuselage restoration. I plan to lift the aircraft from the engine mount using my tractor with forks and supporting the tail. I have never removed the floats from an aircraft and am wondering if I need to loosen the brace wires before trying to remove them. Any tips, tricks and sequence of steps would be appreciated.
