Hello all,

Checking on the Continental Standard Practice Manual (Publication M-0) I see that the recommended sealing compounds are these:
P/N 654663 is LOCTITE 30516 but seems to be discontinued and replaced by LOCTITE MR5923 "Aviation Gasket Sealant".
P/N 646942 is LOCTITE 515 "Gasket Eliminator".
And P/N 641543 is the silk thread.
Below is the related figure of Publication M-0.
This figure tell us to use LOCTITE MR5923 and the silk thread on one side of the crankcase (2-4) and LOCTITE 515 on the other side (1-3).
Off course it prohibits using any compound on the middle and rear bearings but strangely says nothing about the front bearing, what off course is prohibited.
And also, it shows that sealing compound shall be used at the very neighborhood of the bearings, what seems questionable to me.

My question is: what are the practices and sealants that you fellows recommend?

Thanks,
Tom
