Currently, I am working on restoring a J-3 as an apprentice A&P and I am in the search for some advice about crank shaft choice between tapered or flange. In my quest for a C-85 to rebuild I see many engines for sale with tapered shafts but not many for sale with a flange. Is one preferred to the other?
Also, I know that I want a metal prop for when the restoration is complete but I am not sure what would be the best climb prop or what is recommend for the best performance.
Would appreciate all the help I can get, thank you in advance!
