Without stepping on the title of an excellent book by AOP (aka "Paul Smith" to the NSA) and with deference to a certain grasshopper in question (wait for it...) who/which is clearly beyond "saving," I offer this thread with an eye toward sharpening everyone's observational skills and preflight proficiency.
Yesterday morning, while preflighting our Legend Cub, I couldn't help but notice we had acquired the equivalent of a B-17 nose-gunner, of sorts, which was staring back at me from behind the landing light transparency in the right wing.
Since there was no obvious signs of life from it,we decided to take him/her/it along for one last "helluva flight" in the local area. A few minutes' operation with a screwdriver after landing extricated the desiccated and unto the earth shall it be consecrated.
UNLESS.....One of you L-4 drivers want it for a mascot!!
