Photo discovered of Piper assigned to Columbus AFB 1943
photo from CAFB Class 43-D book
It appears to be a piper assigned to the base.
maintenance men changing a tire.
the letters CO-C on the side of plane I believe are for Columbus AFB. "-C" maybe for the Commanding Officer?
Anybody know more about this aircraft or why it was assigned to CAFB?
