I'm about ready to install my freshly rebuilt O200 into my 1945 J3 cub. The current engine is a C90-8F, the O200 will be going in without a starter or alternator initially.

I like the idea of an 8A B&C lightweight alternator and a tiny battery for the radio & transponder down the line. Does anyone have experience with a small alternator fitted at the rear of an O200 in a J3? I assume exhaust clearance is likely to be an issue.

Next question is are there any considerations with the lord engine mounts installed on the O200 compared with the conical mounts on the C90?

FWI this is an experimental aircraft in the UK.
