For those of you ACTING as a Sport Pilot (like me and others on this site), the revisions proposed raised a question in my mind. As it stands now a person with a sport pilot certificate must carry their logbook during flight to prove they have the appropriate endorsements for what they are doing, since the Sport Pilot certificate doesn't include that stuff. I had always assumed those of us ACTING as sport pilots by carrying higher licenses and ratings but choosing to use our driver's license as a medical DID NOT have to carry a logbook, since our certificates are proof we have had the training. (Besides, I have 7 logbooks and my training is spread out over most of them).

The summary of the proposed changes that I read on the EAA site says one of them is to "remove the requirement for someone ACTING as a sport pilot to carry a logbook ."

Has my assumption been wrong, and am I an outlaw because I don't carry my logbooks?
