I just acquired a 1946 cub! It's a real find, been a hangar queen mostly the past 20 years or so. The aircraft was recovered back in 1967 with Grade A, and flown maybe a total of 700 hours since then. Another local Cub guru came out to inspect and said it obviously needs to be recovered due to age but he did a very hard finger test and said it may be ok for flying around the patch until I decide on all the details of the rebuild. Total time is around 1800, 500 SMOH in 1969. The engine starts on the second flick and theres no major rust in the tank.

The aircraft is completely original and authentic. All logbooks including the first with matching engine serial number, converted A-65 to 75. The aircraft also has all the original instruments including the altimeter and paired oil temperature and pressure instrument. New tires, all AD's complied with...a mechanic on the field had been maintaining it and running the engine monthly.

More photos to come along with more details. Before it flies again it needs an annual which just expired a month ago. The right brake is soft and the tail brace wires need to be tightened. I have been watching this airplane for a few years knowing it would go on the market, I even flew it for the mechanic last year when the mechanic had completed the annual.

Theres a long story and I will complete a article about it later, but the way I found the Cub and the owner is a really interesting story.
