Our beautiful show-quality L4-B made an off-airport landing back on May 21. The plane was totaled, and we have purchased the salvage from the insurance company. Yes, we now have ourselves a project:
The prop was reduced to splinters, the engine was damaged, and of course needs a full teardown no matter what, the left wing was destroyed, the right wing sustained minor damage, the fuselage was damaged near the firewall, the empennage was unscathed.
We've got a new engine on the way, the fuselage is being repaired and will be finished next week. Our biggest issue right now is the left wing and left aileron. We need new ones!
Any leads on a left wing and aileron for a 1943 Cub will be appreciated. We need a wood spar, to match the right wing. (The wings were rebuilt with new wood spars in 1998.)
