My Mother loved to fly.

As a little girl in the '20s, she defied her very strict father, a Methodist Minister, and got a ride in a biplane at about age 10, with the help of her older sister. She loved it!

When my brother was stationed in Alaska for four years, she took every opportunity to fly in SuperCubs with the bush pilot/hunting guides my brother knew, and loved to land on icebergs!

Whenever I flew our family to visit them, no matter what the aircraft, or where they lived, she had to have a ride and look over the town and the scenery. Flying around Mount Shasta in a Mooney really got her going! Flying down the street as low as possible to take pictures of my father's church was always a must. Except in Buffalo NY.

My mother passed away at my brothers in Redding, CA, with a view of Mount Shasta out his window, at the age of 98, two years ago. She always asked about my flying, and wanted one more flight. She would have loved the J3.

Thanks, Mother.

I hope some of you take your Mothers for flights today!
