I am restoring a 1942 L4A cub S/N-8538 or military S/N- 42-36414. I need new landing gear shock struts and see there are two lengths, 15" and 25" The parts manual shows my S/N uses the shorter struts. The J5 I restored had the shorter struts and I didn't like the look of it and it probably made it a little more squirrely on the ground. My question is, can I use the longer struts? I don't care for the look of the shorter struts.
