I have seen several Cubs that have undrilled AN bolts and lock nuts used to attach the landing gear. Since these are "rotating" joints, aren't drilled bolts with castle nuts and cotter pins required? I have talked to two other IAs on my field and they both seem to think using lock nuts is OK. The only undrilled bolts and lock nuts I use are on the upper cabane vee fittings, because they don't move. What are your opinions (especially IAs)?
