Guys,
Quick question, the L-4B is noted as having the Airpath 61 compass fitted, though the POH shows a different compass fitted in the photo - typical!
Since the the photo in the POH and the make in the IPC are different, does anybody know if and when the compasses were changed over or is this a case of new items (B-16) replacing old items on the line when they arrived?
Did all L-4Bs have Airpath compasses, or were B-16s fitted to some on the line, and were B-16s fitted in the field as the L-4Hs already had them?
Can anybody ID the L-4B compass in the POH photo, is it a pre-war J3 item?
FYI, I have a B-16 compass fitted at the moment, but I am thinking of going to the Airpath, any pros and cons with this idea?
Airpath compasses appear on the web a lot.........

....and new almost identical Airpath compasses are for sale as they are still in business.
