I need a serviceable elevator for my J2 project. I can easily modify a J3 elevator to work (J2 has three hinges). I am at north central Illinois and would appreciate any help.
My original was repaired sometime in the past by a mechanic who only had a very large hammer in his/her tool box. He/she managed to remove almost all of the roundness from the front tube carrying the hinges.
I imagine he/she was straightening the elevator from an oops ...............
