Opened up my wing root fairing and found a wad of inter rib bracing tape. Further investigation showed something had chewed it between most ribs. Best I can tell, it was just wrapped up, no other debris, and no sign of nesting, and no urine smell discolorization. My understanding is this is used only to keep the ribs aligned while covering. Obviously I'll have my IA take a look at it, but just curious, is this something to be alarmed over as far as airworthiness?
Also the critter chewed through 1 rib stitch on about 3 different ribs. Is a broken, or in this case a chewed rib lace allowed on rib? Is there a max allowable broken rib stitches per rib?
