Grumble - once again, I ask for a waiver of subrogation and additional insured status, and once again the insurance agent tells the owner he doesn't need that.

It is true, the owner doesn't need for me to be covered, but I sure as hell do - watch out for these agents giving owners mis-information.

When I fit the open pilot warranty, the owner is covered. When something happens, his insurer goes to bat for him - but not me. I am on my own. My CFI insurance covers me, but hull is prohibitively expensive, so I do not carry that when I instruct. I depend on the owner's policy or an indemnification document.

Why do they make this so difficult to understand?
