Ihave had a Wittnauer clock in my Cub since 1963 - I think it cost me fifteen bucks, surplus. It has been overhauled once, and is due for its second.

Meantime, I have been wondering why one cannot just stick an ordinary clock in there - so I risked $19 at Clockit for a 2" insert.

Problem is, of course, that my insturment panel is all black face instruments, and this one will be out of place. Still, for nineteen bucks, including tax and shipping . . .

Overhaul cost on the Wittnauer is $180 plus parts. Outright, for an overhauled aircraft clock, is over $300! If Clockit ever makes a black- face clock, I am in!

My hangar clock mechanism came from them - quartz movement, lasts for about five years, always accurate . . .they even give you free hands!
