In retrospect, if you were with the engineers at Piper for a day back in the 1940's and were afforded the opportunity to recommend changes to the J3 Cub, what would you change? The changes would be commensurate with available 1940's technology and would not change the fundamental configuration or characteristics of the J3 Cub. For me:

1. No forks on the front lift struts.
2. Better design and access points for serviceability (esp the fuel tank).
3. Better rear seat design than the sling.
4. Stronger trim system.
