Previously I stated that my tachometer does not always run up smoothly, like it is sticking sometimes and maybe it is not reaching the normal climb out RPM.
Today I pulled the upper engine cowling off, removed the 90 degree tachometer cable adaptor. Just checked it and made sure it worked. Just for information, it turns but the part that goes into the engine wobbles while it turns, so it may be worn out?

The main thing I found when I pulled on the cable inside of the cable housing at the engine end, about a 3 inch cable came out in my hand, not the entire cable. I think that part was crimped down on the flexible cable and is reamed out.

So my question it, is it broken?

To replace it do I have to remove the elbow at the tachometer ( very difficult area to work under) !
