Let's say someone absolutely needs an annual. Don't ask why, just consider it a hypothetical question.

An IA enters the following: "Jan 25, 2023 -tach time 3421 - Aircraft inspected in accordance with an annual inspection, and a list of discrepancies has been supplied to the owner."

Then he/she types up the list: "Fuselage and lift struts rusted beyond repair; must be replaced. Landing gear, cockpit controls, engine and data plate missing, must be replaced. Wings and tail surfaces are airworthy without additional work; see 337 filed this date for ceconite cover. Airworthiness Directives must be reviewed."

Sure, it is extreme - is it, strictly speaking, a legal annual inspection?
