Got into a discussion with a friend who has an L-4 and the subject of service ceiling came up. He claims that an L-4 achieved an altitude of 19,000'. We operate out of 4700' msl, so high altitudes in this area are common, especially when flying above the Sierra. I have climbed to 14,000' in my 90 h.p. J-3 and that was about all she was willing to go with any feel. Anybody been higher? GUP
