Hello All, I have just disassembled my 46 J3 (Metal Spar) wing. I will be replacing 90% of the hardware on it as most of the bolts/screws/nuts are all rusted and beat up. My question is how do I go about identifying some of this hardware so it can be replaced. I'll make a list bellow of parts which need hardware replaced and maybe someone can help shed some light.
Screws to attach leading edge to spars (Im aware theres are going to be (TYPE A) screws which is the pointer tip but what size?
Bolt/Nut to attach compression struts to spar
Bolt/Nut "N" Brace to spar
Bolt/Nut to attach Aileron Hinge to spar
Bolt/nut to attach aileron hinge bracket to false spar (Or should these be attached with rivets?)
Bolt/Nut FRONT/REAR SPAR butt fitting (The parts list shows an AN5-16 where the wing attaches to the airframe but what about the rest of the bolts which the fitting attaches to the spar?)
Bolt/Nut "N" Brace to spar
Bolt/Nut for pulley assembly for rear spar attachment
Why doesn't Piper make these bolts more clearly illustrated in the parts catalog, am I not reading it correctly? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated as I am very new to aircraft restoration. I will attach some pictures of the smaller parts that i have mentioned .
