May is a great time for Cubbing in the mountains of Western North Carolina ... a couple of Cub guys just decided that it would be a good time for a barbecue.
This is an unsponsored deal - no host - just guys wanting to have fun. No agendas. Good food, good people, great airplanes, and the head weather guy loves Cubs.
You can fly in to Hendersonville Airport (0A7) or the Air Museum field that is right next door (8NC9) ... park either place but I'd be willing to bet most will want to park with the Cubs on the Museum side (you can taxi from one side to the other)!
Looking down runway(s) 15 in the picture, the Museum field is to the right of the row of hangars and the drainage ditch. There are 2 runways in the picture ... the Hendersonville Airport to the left is about 3,000 x 80, with half the width paved and the other half grass (the grass runway is shorter due to the hangars, etc, at the south end) ... the Museum runway is about 2,800 feet of good grass.
More info to come ... FAR 91.3(a) - Pilot in Command responsibility/authority - applies.
