I received a DVD from the FAA concerning all the paperwork they have on my plane and have a question:
The plane was dated as November 1940 and listed as a J3C-65. In the 50s a Lycoming engine was installed and the registration changed to J3L-65 and this is the tag which is riveted to the dash along with the serial number. I've owned the plane nearly 30 years and it has been powered by a Continental 85 for over 40 years. How do I get the registration changed to J3C-85? Is it important?
I've seen a few comments about STCs for J3C-65 that can't be used for J3L-65 so I'm wondering. Thanks
