Engine Quits in Cold WX

I'm new to the J3. I flew a Cub a lot this summer and had no problems with the engine (C65). It has new slick mags and new plugs. New annual as of Nov 19. I started flying it again in the cold and the engine tends to quit when the throttle is retarded to idle stop. Perhaps the idle needs to be reset due to cold temps? The thing wants to idle around ~500 or less at idle stop. Ideas?
