My C85 has Eisemann LA4's on it. Yesterday just after a normal easy start, the right mag started a nasty "no mesh" sound. I immediately shut it down and pulled the mag.

Long story short:

The rubber potting around the coil has melted and flowed down to the rotor, locked the rotor, which bent the rotor shaft and locked up the mag. The breaker cam is also split.

Decision time .... I would love to keep the Eisemann's but are there any shops that can rebuild these? I see a rotor and cam at Univair.

Should I just convert or go about locating parts/shop?

I am sure there are others that have been thru T/U Eisemann mags.

Thanks in Advance!

Wayne
