So now I have a brite shinny set of J3 floats and fittings. The rear float fuselage bolt on fittings I have are 5/8 inch wide thru the 'blade' that goes down into top of rear float. Unfortunately the rear float leg on the new floats accepts about a 1/4 inch blade from the fuselage fitting. ????
Looking for water near land for the first conversion. Does anyone have an actual distance of water I will need to takeoff. This could play a part in picking out the spot to switch. I don't have a dolly and the fellow's neighbor punched holes in the rear of his floats 6 times in a row trying to dolly lauch....he was rushing the rotation instead of letting ac fly off. So I may not build a dolly for just one lauch. Thanks in advance. R
