I have dealt with the "older" Cubs, L-4J & '46s. But, I find myself with an opportunity to pick up an "early" 1939 model. It is a J3L-65 that was changed to the installation of a Continental 65.

Ideally, I'd like to have the 1220 GW, and install a C-85, or C-85 w/ O-200 crank and pistons. Since I have an 85hp long wing to fly already, I am considering clipping the wings on this one, if I'm going to be taking this airplane down to restore it.

I know there's some people that can tell me what mods need to be done to take up the gross weight, and other good info to know. I want to know what I'm looking for, and at, before I get in front of the airplane.

Thanks all!

Jim
